2012

I’m a little late to say Happy New Year, but not too late to talk about what 2012 will bring. I’m no psychic, but there are a few things to look forward to that will be happening this year. I just got an iPhone 4, but the iPhone 5 is just around the corner. Coachella has already been announced, but I’m not even interested. Sure the line up is great (it always is), but I don’t even think I can handle the heat and the crowds anymore. Live music is better when it’s among friends and in a nice dark intimate venue. Speaking of which, BRMC are set to release a new album this year. No announcements on titles yet, but it’s coming…

There are lots of apocalyptic predictions due to the Mayan calendar ending at 2012 and perhaps people just like freaking everyone out with Biblical warnings. Either way, there will be an alignment of the planets which is definitely an astronomical event that is extremely rare and we’re pretty lucky to have an event like that occur in our lifetime. That is, if we survive it. I personally believe that the world isn’t coming to an end, but it is getting more and more over populated.

People are living longer, having kids that live longer, and the population keeps growing. The world population reached 7 billion people on October 31, 2011 and it’s supposed to reach 9 million around 2045 according to National Geographic. It’s a scary thought considering the resources of the world are already becoming more scarce. Technology is constantly improving so perhaps this can solve some problems. Speaking of which, there’s a new Men In Black movie coming out too. The trailer is all the rage right now.
